This series has been my passion project since 2022, and looks at my family’s German Jewish history, the legacy of assimilation and cultural loss, and how our inherited memory is rediscovered and given new meaning for the modern era. I will present recent large scale mixed media paintings, fiber works, and original works on paper alongside selected earlier paintings from the beginning of the series, providing context for how the work has developed over time.
The exhibition will also feature several pieces by guest artist Deborah Howard, professor emeritus at my alma mater, the University of Denver, along with the Seed Sisters Art Collective, of which I am a member, presenting Elemental in the back gallery.
